Berewood has outline planning permission, granted in March 2011, for at least 2,550 homes, built in phases by several housebuilders. If you have bought on a development like it, three checks come before solar: whether your deeds or the estate management company restrict external additions, what the builder’s warranty says about roof penetrations, and what is already installed.
Homes built to the 2021 edition of Part L of the Building Regulations — in force for new homes from 15 June 2022 — often came with a small solar array, because panels are a common way to meet it.
