How fast does a home EV charger charge?

A standard 7kW home charger adds approximately 25-30 miles of range per hour. For a typical 60kWh EV battery, a full charge from empty takes 8-9 hours — ideal for overnight. Do I need planning permission for a home EV charger?

No. Domestic EV charger installations fall under permitted development in England. No planning application is required, regardless of conservation areas. What is smart charging and why does it matter?

Smart charging allows your EV charger to communicate with your energy tariff, solar system, and the grid to charge at the most economical time. Can you install an EV charger without solar panels?
