Shirley is one of Southampton's largest and most diverse suburbs, stretching from the busy Shirley High Street up to Upper Shirley and the edge of the Common. The area has a real community feel with independent shops, good transport links, and a mix of terraced, semi-detached, and detached homes. Tom knows Shirley well and has installed systems across the area.
Shirley's mix of housing stock means system sizes vary. Terraced homes typically suit 3kW systems, while the larger semis and detached properties in Upper Shirley can take 4-6kW arrays.
No special planning restrictions in most of Shirley. Some properties on the edge of The Polygon conservation area may need additional checks.
Tom gave us a really thorough survey and was upfront about what would work on our terraced house. The 3kW system is perfect and we're saving about £60 a month already.
